Sermon Title: A Pilgrimage Away from Power. Preacher: Pastor Jason Byran-Wegner. Preaching Text: Luke 4:1-13. Today marks the first Sunday in Lent. Our theme for this season is Pilgrimage: Together Toward the Cross. God’s people have always been on the move, from Abraham to Isaiah, and from Jesus to Paul. These holy travels included awe-inspiring faith amidst adversity and trials. As we move together toward the cross this Lent, we will explore ways pilgrimage, both physical and spiritual lead us toward Christ’s self-giving love, and the ways Christ’s death and resurrection continue to shape our faith today.
