Romans 9:1-5 is the introduction to chapters 9-11 and is crucial in understanding the subject matter of those chapters.  Why do most Jews reject the gospel, and Jesus as their Messiah?  Chapter 9-11 will explain that, but it doesn't keep the heart of the apostle Paul from breaking over their lost condition.
