Sermon Title: Why Are You Still Looking Up? Preacher: Deacon Stephanie Anderson. Preaching Text: Acts 1:1-11. After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples over a period of forty days, teaching them and preparing them for what would come next. Today, on Ascension Day, we remember the moment Jesus was taken from their sight, not as an ending, but as a transition. With a promise and a mission, Jesus entrusts his followers to be his witnesses in the world. Even as he ascends, he does not abandon them - or us. Instead, we are reminded that Christ's presence is not limited to one place, but is now carried by his body, the Church, sent into the world in hope.
