Unlucky to be playing at the same time as Uli Schmidt, James Dalton, Chris Rossouw, John Allan and Naka Drotske, Visser nevertheless made enough of an impression to be called up to the Springbok training camps ahead of the World Cup. Unfortunately the swashbuckling hooker was overlooked by Bok coach Kitch Christie but Mornay did at least fulfill a boyhood dream by making an on-field Test match appearance for the Boks in a pre-Rugby World Cup game against Western Samoa.
