This month, I was in a wild mood to just record a long mix that included all the kinds of music I like to play, from downtempo to progressive house to various styles of trance. I didn't have a target length in mind, I just gathered songs that went well together and went for it. It was a fun challenge trying to juggle the crazy BPM swings without breaking up the flow, and to that end, I think it was a success. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

After a busy Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and all of the other end-of-year activities and other minutiae of daily life squeezed in-between those last few months, I've channeled all of that pent up musical energy into this one-hour mix. The average BPM of Frontiers is slowly creeping up, but I'm not

complaining. Trance music is where my roots are, and I'm glad I've

naturally found a way to have slower, melodic house coexist with it. I

The initial premise behind Frontiers was to make DJ mixes that were more

than just a weekly/monthly showcase of the latest music - I wanted to

make something people (including myself) could enjoy listening to again

and again. While the formula for that has undergone revisions and

iterations over the last 49 episodes, the underlying principle hasn't.

For

this month's episode, I wanted to experiment a little. Rather than have

one downtempo track, why not have...four? Instead of starting at

120bpm, why not start around 100? Variety keeps things interesting, and

this was a REALLY fun challenge for me to put together that I think
