In Philippians 2:6–11, Pastor Justin reveals the full story of Christmas by connecting the cradle and the crown. The manger only makes sense when we understand the throne. Before Bethlehem, Jesus was already King. At Bethlehem, the eternal King stepped into time. After Bethlehem, the humbled King was exalted and given the name above every name.

This message walks through three powerful scenes of Scripture that unveil one unchanging truth: Jesus was always the King.

First, we see the descent of the King. Though He was God, Jesus willingly laid aside His rights and glory. He chose humility, servanthood, and obedience, even to death on a cross. This was not forced upon Him. It was a deliberate decision made out of love for us.

Second, we witness the arrival of the King. Heaven did not announce Him in a palace, but in a field. The first invitation came to shepherds, the overlooked and unvalued of society. Third, we discover the prophecy of the King. Isaiah declared that this Child would carry the government on His shoulders and be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. The cradle is where eternity met humanity, and the long awaited promise of God took on flesh.

From this truth, we are challenged to respond. The crown reveals the power of humility. The cradle reveals the nearness of God. The gospel reveals the path we are called to walk. Christmas is not just a sentimental story. It is the announcement of a reigning King who came to save, redeem, and restore.

The call is clear. Bow before the King. Invite His presence into your home. Carry His reign into your world. And never separate the cradle from the crown.
