Topic Discussed : Future of Circular Economy in the Plastic Packaging Recycling Market, 2030
Speakers : Deepthi Kumar Sugumar
Key Takeaways:
• The Future of Circular Economy in Plastic Packaging Recycling Market, 2030 is estimated as $13.1 billion in 2018 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.1%. . As a result of stringent environmental regulations and awareness on marine pollution, many corporates have vowed to make their plastic packaging 100% recyclable in the coming years.
• Volume generated for 2018 is 106.3 million metric tonnes and is expected to increase to 186.8 in 2030. The recycling rates will 54.6% in 2030 compared to 28.3% in 2018. Recycling rates will improve.
• China’s waste ban has created numerous opportunities in countries that were exporting their plastic waste. Producers, consumer and recyclers are working together to enhance recyclability of packaging plastic. Europe is going the circular economy way in dealing with packaging plastic waste by establishing a “zero landfill” of plastic waste by 2030.
• PET, HDPE, LDPE, PVC and PP recycling rates will increase to 67%, 57%, 36%, 48%, 47% respectively in 2030. Banning of single-use plastics in many countries is a result of UN and other organizations stressing on rise of plastic packaging waste in oceans.
• Waste to Fuel is an innovative solution to curb packaging plastic. Plastics which cannot be recycled can be converted to fuel. Waste to Energy (WtE) through incineration is gaining traction in many countries that are running out of space for landfills.
• Key trends that influence generation of plastic packaging waste include change in consumer habits, increased urbanization, increased use of plastic in food packaging, increased use of personal care prdoucts, innovative in polymer science and rapid increase in global bottled water hydration market.
• Some of the key elements for success in recycling of plastic packaging waste include effective labelling, smart bins and reverse vending machines, sorting/separation technology, chemical recycling and plastic to fuel.

Topic Discussed : Global Software Testing Services Market, Forecast to 2024
Speakers : Varun Raman
Key Takeaways:
• While the traditional spend on testing by end-users is on the decline, the growth of specialized testing services and the adoption of Agile and DevOps help this market continue to ride the wave of growth. Greater flexibility in pricing models to suit a varied range of customers, and a shift from a CAPEX system to a more subscription-like OPEX system is also expected to contribute to strong double digit growth across all regions.
• Banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), IT and telecom, lifesciences and healthcare, manufacturing, energy and utilities, and retail, consumer goods, and logistics are some of the key end-user verticals. Among these, the BFSI vertical is the largest end-user vertical and will remain so over the forecast period. The retail, consumer goods, and logistics vertical will be the fastest growing end-user vertical over the same period to become the second largest vertical at the end of the forecast period.
• The shift left philosophy employed by most testing vendors introduces security testing earlier in the development phase. By integrating security testing within a DevOps environment, security testing vendors are advocating for the push of DevSecOps, which entails continuous integration, delivery, and security.

Topic Discussed : Tesla's Semi Truck Strategy in North America, 2017--2025
Speakers : Vineeth Purushotham
Key Takeaways:
Tesla’s Semi offers the highest driving range, 300-500 miles, for any battery electric truck in the market. Other attributes that gives the Semi an edge over other electric trucks are its acceleration, speed, connectivity and advanced safety features. The most vital feature for Tesla to sell its Semi at $180,000 without compromising on the payload is the battery. To achieve this Tesla will have to manufacture batteries which cost 30%-35% less and are 76% more energy dense than any other battery in the market by 2020. According to Frost and Sullivan’s analysis, Semi is expected to offer a payback period of 1 year 7 months to 3 year and 4 months. This is largely dependent on Tesla’s ability to spec the battery optimally in terms of weight and energy density so as to not compromise on price, payload capacity, and range. Post its product launch Tesla is expected to move towards more service based offerings such as app based solutions, digital retailing, leasing and platooning either through targeted acquisitions or partnerships.
