What does Jesus have to say about the words we use and how we speak of others?

In this sermon we look at what Jesus says about his relationship to the Bible of his day, the Old Testament, when he speaks about not destroying it, but fulfilling it. How might Jesus' words help us to read our Bible and to live?

Jesus called his disciples salt and light. What was he saying to them and what does it mean for today's followers of Jesus?

This message looks at the second half of the beatitudes, concluding a 3 week look at these key verses (Matthew 5:1-12) that begin Jesus' sermon on the mount.

In this passage, we begin to hear Jesus' invitation which we call the Beatitudes.

At the beginning of his "Sermon on the Mount", Jesus declares some people to be blessed. But, it's a surprising list - with people like those who mourn being blessed. Is Jesus telling us to act in these ways or is there something else going on here?

What seems like just a list of names at the end of Paul's letter to the Romans is more than that - it's a picture of what the gospel does, bringing women and men together from all different backgrounds and making them into one people. These people are all welcome and all a part of continuing on the call to spread the gospel of Jesus - they demonstrate the good news by their life together and they work together to share it with others.
