Vita Breva joins Josiah and Jackal to wrap up horror month with a discussion about Ken Russell's most controversial and censored film, The Devils (1971). Vita walks us through the historical events depicted in the film and the book by Aldous Huxley that Russell based a lot of the film on. We discuss the film's reputation, its critique of fascism, sexual repression, and the political weaponization of religion, as well as its rather ugly relationship with women.
