Danced by the participants of the 20th FSCDC e.V. Tea Dance, “A Tribute to Malcolm Brown”, on 19 January 2025.
Based on a low-resolution video by Sabine Meier-Ude – this was transferred from WhatsApp on Sabine's mobile to WhatsApp on Marie's mobile to Telegram and then to my PC for editing, which was a slow process even so; I shudder to think how long it would have taken at full resolution! I replaced the original sound from the video (except for the applause at the end) with the recording I played during the dance, in order to get rid of my very loud prompting over the music. The recording is the audio track from the YouTube video Malcolm cites in the dance instructions – note how between the three parts of the dance there are “breaks” of two bars in what the pipe band plays, which the dancers cover by setting. The dancers deserve credit for doing this with very little practice; this is the second time we did the dance at the workshop and the first time was quite a bit more chaotic!
