Fuds On Film

Join us for our commentary on the animated action from an earlier attempt at DC Comic Universe-building, with World’s Finest, the Batman Superman “movie”. It’s a collation of three episodes of the Superman animated series, with Joker teaming up with Lex Luthor to bring down Superman, with Batman showing up to assist the boy in blue. Not that you’d know it from our commentary, which quickly veers into an Elseworld exploration of sexbots and Eternia’s Finest, Fisto. It’s the most powerfully erotic hour of audio entertainment we’ve yet produced. Check it out, unless you have high blood pressure or a heart condition. If symptoms persist after 48 hours, consult your medical practitioner.
We think we may have had a few seconds drift between hosts on this one for no readily ascertainable reason, but honestly most of what we’re talking about had little to do with the on-screen action, so it makes little difference.

With the release of the latest outing for DC’s premier superheroes, we thought we’d take an overview of all of the previous live action movie adaptations of Batman and Superman, as well as give you our take on the Dawn of Justice currently lighting up your local multiplex. Once we’re done, you’ll surely believe a yam can fry.

We’re covering arguably Kubrick’s most controversial film in this commentary, his 1971 spot of ultraviolence A Clockwork Orange. Join us as we watch Malcolm McDowell’s urbane psycho Alex DeLarge wreak havoc, before having havoc wreaked upon him in this exploration of his violence to society, governmental violence on their subjects, and the role of free will in moral frameworks. Quite complex, for a film where a lady is bludgeoned to death with a giant plaster phallus. Check it out! Or don’t. No retribution will be levied for non-checking-outness. We’re not animals.

This month we turn our attention to one of the most well regarded directors of his generation, Stanley Kubrick. For someone who made films for nearly five decades, you’d think we’d have to pick and choose which films to cover, but his meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of production means that there’s only thirteen feature films for us to talk through, and there’s a few on that list that Kubrick himself probably wouldn’t be thanking us for covering. Please join us as we discuss them.

We return to the coldest of all wars and don a set of NHS prescription glasses as we delve in to Funeral In Berlin, featuring Michael Caine’s Harry Palmer navigating the tricky business of arranging the defection of a top Soviet Colonel across the Berlin Wall. This commentary for the second of the adaptations of Len Deighton’s classic spy novels to feature Palmer will thrill, enthuse and excited in equal quantities, although we’re not saying how large or small those quantities are.
