Dr. Mike Simpson is an ER Physician and author. Dr. Simpson has over 30 years of
military service starting out as an enlisted soldier is 1 st Ranger Battalion 75 th Ranger
Regiment and later as Special Forces Engineer in 7 th Special Forces Group before
going to medical school and becoming an Emergency Medicine Physician serving the
rest of his career supporting Special Operations. Dr. Simpson was assigned to the Joint
Special Operations Command (JSOC), and deployed multiple times in direct support of
the Global War on Terror (GWOT). During that time period, he was awarded the Bronze
Star Medal with V device for valor in combat, as well as the Combat Medical Badge, for
performing his duties as an Emergency Medicine Physician under enemy fire.
