In today’s Sunday news round-up on the podcast: Iran has abolished its highly controversial “morality police,” which would apprehend and in some cases allegedly torture peaceful protesters and social media content creators who had run afoul of the Islamic country’s strict cultural laws and provisions. Plus, Elon Musk said in a livestream hangout that he risks being “shot” — presumably because of the pressure he is putting on the Biden administration, by revealing the unsavory censorship relationship between Biden campaign officials, and Twitter.

We are eagerly awaiting “Day 2” of the Twitter Files from Elon Musk, who happens to be Twitter’s new owner.

In summary, Musk retweeted some journalism from investigative reporter Matt Taibbi, which showed emails of Twitter executives instructed to — and then complying with — requests from “the Biden team” to delete and ban accounts.

Requests also came in for account bans, of celebrities and normal users alike, who ran afoul of the DNC. Political censorship, now a fact, rather than a conspiracy theory.

Yet another conspiracy theory has to be re-rated as demonstrable public fact: was Twitter hunting down conservatives, vaccine policy critics, and others the Biden White House found annoying? Were Twitter execs even censoring at the direct request of White House officials?

Well, now we have the answer: yes, routinely!

Elon Musk made good on a promise to reveal prior malfeasance at Twitter under its previous ownership.

About an hour after he was expected to do so, he tweeted or “retweeted” a long journalistic thread from investigative reporter Matt Taibbi.

In the thread, Taibbi shows actual email screenshots, between Twitter executives. In one email, conservative actor James Woods is singled out, with a note that the DNC focused on his account.

The implications of this are wild: an email screenshot appears to show Twitter executives in late 2020, deleting and banning accounts at the direct request of Biden campaign officials.

With short notice, Elon Musk teased “the Twitter Files,” which were delivered on Friday evening in the form of a tweet thread from popular investigative journalist Matt Taibbi.

Like many on the Internet, we are doing our best to make sense of the unraveling scandal around Balenciaga — some of the fashion house’s less than savory events, creepy advertisements featuring children, and design choices have left truthers in an uproar recently.

Kanye West defending himself on a recent podcast episode (Timcast/Tim Pool show) — he reportedly walked off in mid-interview, to Mr. Pool’s surprise.

Largely a social media driven scandal, some have drawn comparisons between… Balenciaga-gate… and prior fringe scandals, including the Gate of Pizza, and years of controversy around Jeffrey Epstein’s Caribbean island and one of his former purported victims, Virginia Giuffre — which culminated in his arrest, and then alleged suicide, while in US custody.

Kanye West — a “troubled man,” as Trump recently described him after the musician and entrepreneur paid a visit to the former President in Florida. Trump sure knows how to compliment new friends!

Balenciaga was interestingly, until recently, one of Kanye West’s main financial backers and creative collaborators.
