All of us have talents and abilities that enable us to do great things. But even those don't flow from us - they were given to us. We should never build a confident mindset based on our natural abilities. We should never think to ourselves, "I'm able to conquer anything." That's superman syndrome and it only gets you into trouble.

Overcoming obstacles starts with training your mind to focus on your Creator

Obstacles are temporary, not permanent. They can be moved, or changed, or utilized to move us forward. But you can't do that on your own. You've got to train your mind to start from square one: the belief that staying connected to God Himself is the only way you can turn obstacles into opportunities.

Remember, you're a created being. That means you're limited, flawed, finite. You can only do what God enables you to do. So tap into Him, learn what He wants for your life, gain the insight and wisdom He has to offer you - and you'll see the obstacles in your life through a different lens.

Life is going to give you bad circumstances. It's how you choose to look at it that matters

If you don't listen to this episode carefully you could come away with the feeling that Matt thinks drawing close to God will make all the hard things in your life disappear. That's not what he's saying at all. Matt's message in this episode is simple: Life WILL put you in some tough spots. But if you know your Creator is on your side you'll be able to face those situations with a positive, can-do attitude that can't be defeated.

Think it through… if the God who created the universe is on your side, how can any obstacle be too much for you? You have to learn to look at obstacles from that perspective. It may seem too big for you. It may seem like a bad thing. But the place you need to put your attention is not on the obstacle, it's on the One to whom the obstacle is a very small thing. It's a subtle shift that can make a world of difference in how you face obstacles and in how you overcome them. It all comes from tapping into your infinite source of power.

What could your life be if it was plugged into the infinite source of power?

One of the reasons superhero movies are so popular is that we all like to imagine what it would be like to have superpowers of some kind. But every human being has the opportunity to experience something better than flying, lifting heavy objects, or x-ray vision. We have the opportunity to plug into the infinite source of power Who made the universe. God has made Himself available to us, His creation, and wants to be the power source from which we draw our strength and wisdom.

You can't make this stuff up. It's in the Bible for everyone to read. But we don't tap into it. In Matt's mind, that's madness. We try everything BUT tapping into our Creator. Listen, carefully consider what Matt shares, and make the decision that you're going to seek after your Creator with your whole heart. You won't regret it.
