Sometimes God does his best work beyond the view count.

That is difficult for a pastor, author, communicator, or anyone who makes things. We want the work to matter. We would also quite like evidence that it matters, preferably before dinner.

But spiritual formation does not ask whether the moment performed well. It asks whether we became more like Jesus.

Maybe the holiest thing you do this week will never be posted.

Good.

I've been telling people I want to be a joybringer. What does it look like to practice joy when you don't feel it?!

Do faith and fear sit at opposite ends of the spectrum. When Jesus is away from what is perceived safety where is the safest place for us to be?!

What do you do when your God-sized plan doesn't even remotely follow what you had thought, but it was clear he is at work in a new plan, one he had crafted in advance?! What do you do?!

Apologies for the last couple of week, I've been gearing up for a Sabbatical and much of my time was trying to fill holes in the plan, and it felt a little like Swiss cheese. This week is a little reflection on what I'm hoping to capture on Sabbatical, and 3 directions I'm praying into for the future of church.

This is an idea from Dallas, that kind of finds its home in the Divine Conspiracy but was in a message he gave. I love the idea about how Axis interact with one another as a framework for discipleship and growth with Jesus.

Pride can manifest in a variety of different ways, one of those ways is Envy. This is where our greatest virtue to combat that Humility comes into play.

Feeling Guilty isn't necessarily a bad thing, but feeling the heavy weight of shame was not what God had intended Confession to be.
