Exciting things are on the horizon for the Australian mining industry, and with 2019 mining expos coming thick and fast, it's an excellent opportunity to network, exchange ideas and boost business.
Each Wednesday, join me, Peter Finn, managing director of FACE Contracting, as I navigate the ups and downs of the mining industry with forward-thinking professionals from all walks of life. If you're involved in the mining industry in any way – whether you're a lifer or a high-school student looking to make the leap – Full Production is the podcast for you.
In this week's episode, my special guest is Worthy Parts founder and Full Production podcast veteran, Michael Worthington. Worthy Parts is recognised within the international mining industry as THE platform for sourcing and selling surplus parts, components or machinery. In its inception in 2014, it had just 37 listings on its website. Now there are more than 9500, with that number growing by the week. Michael's innovative attitude towards how he manages his staff is highly commendable, as he constantly seeks new avenues in order to retain, maintain and upskill.
During our chat, we get talking about the peaks and troughs of business, the Worthy Parts service provider expo 2019, as well as finding out what's on the cards for Michael in 2019.

In the previous episode with Jerrod Downey, we got talking about, well, talking and how having strong conversations is important. Now, in part two of the chat we get down to brass tacks, and look a bit deeper into the mining industry itself.

Crownsmen Partners is a firm that focuses on promoting heavy industry, while offering flexible and affordable options to its clients. Conversations are so important. They're the best way we can learn new information, broadening our understanding and gaining a fresh insight into the mechanics of something that doesn't necessarily line up with our own views or industry.
Each Wednesday, join me, Peter Finn, managing director of FACE Contracting, as I navigate the ups and downs of the mining industry with forward-thinking professionals from all walks of life. In this episode we are joined by the Canadian marketing mogul and podcast host, Jerrod Downey. Jerrod is the president of The Crownsmen Partners, and host of the incredibly well produced podcast, The Crownsmen. Originally from a small, remote town in rural Canada, Jerrod has always had a connection with the mining industry, starting within the family business maintaining and cleaning mining equipment. Now, he is a self-proclaimed entrepreneur, investor, writer, manager, marketer, humanitarian (and saxophone player), who sits at the head of The Crownsmen.
The conversation ran so deep, we've had to split this episode into two parts. In part one, we covered a lot of ground in regard to initiating good conversations and keeping things flowing. We also volley back and forth about our own experiences within the industry from a podcasting and mining point of view.
