Transitions in a service can be stressful for the sound tech. There can be a dozen mute buttons to push, a Pastor speaking whose mic needs needs to be turned up, and a few light settings to change on the stage and in the house.
To decrease the frenzy in those moments, we have set up DCA groups on our sound mixer. This will significantly reduce the amount of buttons and faders a sound tech will need to adjust during transition moments in a service.
If you are a regular sound tech at Emmaus, pay close attention to this video because changes have been made to the soundboard layout. If you have not used these DCA groups and the new layout in a service, please set aside some time to come early to the next service you are mixing to familiarize yourself with the new setup.
