What constitutes stealing?
The commandments were not given to harm our families in desperate situations, they were not given see if you would be a rule follower or not. God gave us commandments to protect us from evil, hardship, for fairness & righteousness. God cares for us & even our possessions.
To really understand the scope of this commandment you have to start by considering the very character of God…
…God is loving, compassionate, gracious, kind, merciful and just.
…He is provider, giver, sustainer.
…He created to bless - that we could share in His love and grace for which He gives us.
Why is our world filled with so much selfishness, corruption, power hungry leaders and war?
Because what He has given, we corrupted.
We don't know what tomorrow will bring but God is there & He is with you!
The question, "What constitutes stealing?", really isn't an ethical debate as much as it is a question about personal integrity.
How we honor God with what He has given us - our time, talents & money.
When we take what is not ours it violates & dishonors.
It's not just about what we do - it's also about what we don't do.
The gospel has been given to us to share. The good news of Jesus transforms our lives - making us vessels fit (Because of Christ's righteousness in us) to share with the world His grace & make a difference so that others would know the love of Jesus.
To honor God is to live generously because that is what He has done for us!
He went to the cross & shed His blood so we could be forgiven.
So we could honor Him - honor that comes from a heart of gratitude towards Jesus that is displayed in generosity & grace towards each other - all for His glory!
We would love to pray with you today!
