That's right, 10 episodes in...go us! And we're kicking off David Mamet Month in true FO Show'biz' fashion with a searing look at Mr. Mamet's expert send-up of Hollywood and filmmaking, State and Main—featuring a truly great ensemble cast, including Alec Baldwin, William H. Macy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rebecca Pidgeon, David Paymer, Clark Gregg, Ricky Jay and Julia Stiles.
But before we get into the making of 'The Old Mill' we talk about what we watched this week. Dre watched what's become his favorite film of 2020 (so far), Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and Goodman did double duty with Edward Norton's Motherless Brooklyn and Buffaloed starring Zoey Deutch, or as he thinks it should be called, The Boss Bitch of Buffalo.
Also, the Podcast Movie Ombudsman is BACK! And we discuss The Rewatchables' episode of The Perfect Storm and whether George Clooney is really an A+ lister. Then Dre shares some thoughts on Boston accent snitches.
In this weeks' BOOM! (Based On Other Movies), Dre cooks up a Rivas family classic, arroz con pollo:
What's the movie? Bay-leaf in your guess...sabroso!
Last, join us for The Quote Parade, celebrating and identifying all the random quotes we did on the episode.
Coming up next week, join us for a double dose of Mamet with 1986's and 2014's About Last Night (based on Mamet's play, Sexual Perversity in Chicago).

Welcome to an episode four weeks in the making! Jurassic Park, the final movie in our month of Summer Blockbusters is finally here.
But first we talk about what we watched this week, which was nothing for Dre (weak) and for Goodman, the Andy Samberg time-loop comedy, Palm Springs, available on Hulu— and which sold for the most money ever at Sundance. So it's gotta be good.
Then we welcome you to Jurassic Park, FO Show style. We break down the cast, the crew, the dinosaurs and do so many quotes you'll think we were Michael Crichton's cousins.
Next up is an ooey, gooey, cheesy pizza called BOOM! (Based On Other Movies):
Have a slice and guess the film.
Last, join us for The Quote Parade, celebrating and identifying all the quotes we did on the episode.
Coming up next week, it's a whole new month with a whole new theme: the films of David Mamet. We kick off with 2000's State and Main—it's on the corner of fully and operational!

Welcome to the 3rd movie in our 4-part Summer Blockbuster series. Dre & Goodman get into the 2013 almost-trainwreck-turned-huge-global-smash, World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, directed by Marc Forster and 'loosely' based on the book by Max Brooks.
But first we talk about what we watched this week: Rocketman, the Elton John biopic for Goodman (plus a few others that he didn't finish) and the Warren Beatty/Faye Dunaway 1967 classic Bonnie and Clyde and Netflix's The Highwaymen starring Kevin Costner & Woody Harrelson as the Texas Rangers chasing them down for Dre.
Then we get into World War Z, highlighting its at-times troubled production, break down the cast & crew, hit up a couple obscure quotes, then discuss why there doesn't appear to be a sequel on the horizon.
As always, we finish with a little something to cleanse the palette. In this week's BOOM! (Based On Other Movies), Dre bakes up some ooey-gooey brownies:

In the 2nd of 4 episodes on Summer Blockbusters, Dre & Goodman discuss the 2013 Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy buddy-cop female comedy The Heat, directed by frequent McCarthy collaborator Paul Feig.
But before we break it down in trusty FO Show fashion, Dre shares some 'good' Goodman news and we discuss what we watched this week, including John Cassavetes' Gloria starring Gena Rowland and Joseph Gordon Levitt's airplane hi-jacking movie on Amazon Prime, 7500.
Then we dive into The Heat, highlight the comedic cast, discuss Paul Feig's direction and run through the Quota Obscura machine. We even play a game of Heat or The Heat?
Then it's time to BOOM! (Based On Other Movies) where Goodman celebrates the month of July in pure, Americana fashion by grilling up some tasty cheeseburgers:
Yum!
As always, we take you to The Quote Parade. It's like the Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade, but with random movie quotes.
Coming up next week: World War Z starring Brad Pitt & a jillion fast zombies

Welcome to Summer Blockbuster month here at Fully Operational Pod! Our format's slightly changed but Dre & Goodman never will! All July we're discussing a select group of interesting blockbuster movies and giving them the FO Show treatment.
But first we quickly discuss a couple movies we watched this week (Nights of Cabiria by Federico Fellini and the Will Ferrell/Rachel McAdams Netflix comedy, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga). Then we jump into our first summer blockbuster, 1996's Joel Schumacher helmed A Time to Kill based on the John Grisham novel. We break down Grisham, the impressive cast and Schumacher's choices.
This week's BOOM! (Based On Other Movies) delivers a very tasty coq au vin prepared with love and a borderline offensive French accent by Chef Andre:
Goodman actually gets it this week so you should too! Bon appetit!
Last, grab a seat for The Quote Parade and discover all the quotes that appeared on this week's episode.

The FOShow turns 1...month! We did it! Baby's all growns up! In this episode, Dre & Goodman reveal the the new format going forward. Spoiler alert: THEMES!
Next month we'll be watching and talking about blockbusters - but not your basic blockbusters. Instead we'll talk about A Time to Kill (July 9), The Heat (July 16), World War Z (July 23), and a 4th movie to be named later (July 30) - have a suggestion? Send us your recs @FullyOpPod. And find out where to stream these and other movies with the JustWatch app! #futuresponsor
But before we get to the summer blockbusters, we discuss What We Watched: Richard Jewell, Clint Eastwood's latest everyman hero persecuted by the media. Dre unveils our oft-teased new segment, Fix it in Post(mortem), which turns a critical eye towards Michael Bay's flawed epic, Pearl Harbor. Then Goodman hosts a tasty BOOM! (Based On Other Movies):
Dre eventually gets it, will you?
Last, hop on The Quote Parade and promenade with us through all the quotes from the episode!

In this week's episode, we unleash a new theme song (version 2.0), updated for your movie quote listening pleasure! Then we talk about how we like to take Twitter to the next level, while Dre calls out Goodman for some truly heinous celebrity birthday quote tweets. Shouts to Cleveland.com!
Dre didn't watch anything this week, so we spend way more time than is socially appropriate on Ed Burns' film, the 1996 Rom-Dram (?), She's the One.
Then it's off to the internet's Official Movie Podcast Ombudsman (i.e., us), to discuss a relatively new podcast (Movie Mike's Movie Podcast) and its first episode which came out in Dec 2019, and highlights the top 10 highest paid movie roles of all-time, Movie Mike's review of Honey Boy and his top 5 movies of the decade. Check him out on Twitter @MikeDeestro.
Last, it's BOOM! (Based On Other Movies!) as Dre serves up a sizzling steak dinner of:
Did he cook it to perfection? Or is Goodman sending it back? Find out!

In this episode we get right into it, correcting some blunders from the last episode (so the deflector shields are quite operational, got it!), Dre discusses two movies he watched last week: Robert Altman's look at two degenerates, California Split, and Spike Lee's latest joint about a group of African American Vietnam veterans who return to Vietnam to find a comrade's remains, and buried treasure, Da 5 Bloods, Goodman breaks down Paul Verhoeven's Black Book, then Dre & Goodman face off over our favorite quotes from John Woo's 1997 opus, Face/Off.
The internet's official movie podcast ombudsman took a week off, but Goodman dazzled Dre with this week's latest game craze, BOOM! (Based On Other Movies!):
FO Test Kitchen approved!

With civic unrest and public health at risk, things can look awful grim, so we had no choice but to come back for more and try to raise your spirits via the best/worst movie quote renditions in the business. And then some!
In this episode we discuss the movies we've recently watched (If Beale Street Could Talk for Dre, and Ready or Not for Goodman), break down a pertinent and timely quote from The Dark Knight Rises, discuss Blank Check's podcast episode of Stargate, and then Dre takes over hosting duties for the latest game of BOOM! (Based On Other Movies!) - kablooey!

Welcome to the first-ever episode of Fully Operational! And say hello to Dre and Goodman as we talk about movies as only two friends who met at Blockbuster Video back in 1997 could.
In this episode, we discuss our favorite new/new-to-us movie that we watched during the coronavirus quarantine, break down a couple of our favorite obscure quotes ("The machine is still on, Moira" from Clear & Present Danger and "Head or gut?" from The Last Boy Scout), discuss what The Ringer's The Rewatchables podcast got right (and clearly wrong) in their recent episodes of Crimson Tide and Draft Day, and then we play an epic game of BOOM! What's BOOM!? Well, it's proprietary, but once you find out you'll never watch movies the same way again.
