We are back with Lauren and Jenn to get the final details about the surrogacy journey.

From secret passwords for go time, to family flying in and waiting too long for the baby to arrive and everything in between, we laughed and talked about the fact that this journey includes so many more people than just these 2 women.

A few weeks ago when I was catching up with an old friend and she shared about how she had become a surrogate, for her husband's ex-college roommate, no less.

Whoa.

Her story was so intriguing, I had to hear the  other side.

Curiosity.  

It's such a fun word.  It's loaded with so much wonder and anticipation.  And yet, for some reason, most of us ditch the word as soon as we're done with our school years.

We stop exploring, discovering and pushing the limits to find out who we are and who we have the potential to be.  And then we wonder why we get bored, dissatisfied or anxious with where we end up in life.

It's girl hang out time with my good friend, Tiffani Mitzel!

After reading a life satisfaction survey that mentioned that only 47% of people are HIGHLY satisfied with their life, it got me thinking. It sounds like a decent number, but that's less than 1️⃣ out of 2️⃣. Not good odds. 😕

There are certain times in life when "YES" is not the answer you want to hear.  My dear friend Montse experienced exactly that when her doctor said, "This is bad" and she asked, "Is it cancer?"  

"YES."

What actually happens when that one little word changes the life you were living in an instant?  

That's exactly what we are finding out in this episode.  I ask any question that I may have had when I've wondered about it, from what is the hair loss like, to missing your boobs (yup, we say boobs a lot in this episode) and looking in the mirror at a different person.  And most importantly, how did it affect her kids and family life while going through a treatment that feels worse than the disease.

🌟 The Wonderful world of making friends, as a Mom… 🌼

So I googled Mom and friends the other day and found one of the top searches was…. “Is there a tinder app for making Mom friends”. 😳

Dang! Is that what we’ve come to in our Mom journey search for a gal pal? 🤦‍♀️

I’ve been there. Stuck in Mom-land without an ally in sight to make it through. Aren’t we supposed to stick together? 🤷‍♀️

Life happens and as a Mom, you know that it gets messy and sometimes, even our best intentions just don’t cut it. Kids get sick, last-minute school stuff comes up, you forgot to figure out what’s for dinner and you haven’t been shopping in the last 3 days and all the food is gone. You’re just plain exhausted. It’s a lot. 😓

I get it, I”m right there, too. 🙋‍♀️

And…

We can still show up and make friends. Maybe it doesn’t show up in the way we were used to from our school days, and that’s ok. There are still qualities that mean something and attract people to you. 🌟

I started tracking what I saw in those unicorn moms that were busy and still had these great friends. And I noticed 5 qualities that showed up over and over. I call it the Confidence Code. 💪
