Tracey Tokarski, STEM Coordinator, discusses STEM Activities at St. Joan of Arc School. Their theme this year was “How can humans lessen their impact on the environment. They created a butterfly garden to study and help the Monarch Butterfly.

Jennifer Kaberline discusses the Chesapeake Water Environment Association (CWEA) She talks about the Stockholm Water Prize which is open to all High School students who have conducted water research.

Marco Ciavolino discusses his business, Enktesis, and its work on the STEM Festival website. He talks about the creation and continued success of TechBrick which has involved over 800 students since its inception.

Michelle Dina Director of Education, discusses the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) and their programs to train drone pilots remotely. USI works with educational institutions (currently two in Maryland) and commercial companies.

Kasha Patel , NASA Digital storyteller discusses her new role at NASA and as comedian with a science specialty. She talks about her path starting as a biology major to NASA and comedy.

Donna Hammer and Oluchi. Ofoha discuss the many outreach programs run by the University of Maryland Department of Physics. The programs incudes Physics is Phun and Summer Camps

Peter Wharton from Happy Robotz discuss the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and their outreach efforts. He talks about their Media Forward events including the Montgomery College event that was part of the Festival.

Natalie, Lane, Children’s Librarian, discusses STEM activities in the Kent County Library System. She talks about their successful STEMWorks Event which include many local organizations such as 4-H and the Judy Center.

Ellen Lawrence, Principal Scientist, discusses her work at Emergent BioSolutions (EBSI). She talks about the company’s products and their corporate responsibility program.
