The world domination of Netflix is obviously obvious - and man, I kind of miss the days of VCRs and having to record my favorite TGIF shows because my mom only allowed 30 minutes of television every day - so you had to record the shows you were going to miss and sneak-watch them later. Hard core, my mom. But in my mind, Netflix is going for the ultimate world domination, primarily of women, but not in the ways you would expect. I'm taking it back all the way to Star Trek and Dr. Quinn Medicine Women (hey, fellow children of the 80s) to the now - come journey with me through nostalgia and find out why I think Netflix is going on a sneak attack from the left.

My husband and I are a tiny bit obsessed with France. We've been multiple times, mostly doing self-guided walking tours which is our favorite way to vacation, and once I spent almost an entire month there with a friend - and while she was depressed and drinking copious amounts of French wine to cope, I was delirious with joy to spend an entire month in the land of cheese, rolling hills, and wine that is cheaper than water. In this mono, I can tell you exactly why the French win at life (and are so much better than the rest of us), but there are some closer runner-ups as well. Want to find out who takes the baguette? 

On what has always been a "boys trip", I decided one February to join my husband and his best friend and go skiing in Austria. With no skiing experience. With a bad back. And with no idea that being able to STOP while skiing was critical for one's success on the slopes. This monologue dives deep into the history of the idiots who thought skiing on tiny, wooden slats was something to do for fun, and then explores how one's ego is shattered by European toddlers on skis who are already better at life than you are. It's the hunt for WHY people ski, risking life and limb....for what?
