FUNK !T | Mindful Media & Communication

Did we just witness the best PPV of the year? The past five years? The decade? Lots of great storytelling inside the ring as well as outside the ring  with the Lucha Bros stealing the show and then, of course, #CMPunk, #BryanDanielson, and #AdamCole bay-bay.   Here's a quick breakdown from a #storytelling (but this time really from a fan pov as well) pov.    _________________________________________________  Youtube: http://bit.ly/funkitpodyoutube Spotify: http://bit.ly/funkitpodspotify Google Podcast: http://bit.ly/funkitpodgoogle iTunes / Apple Podcasts: http://bit.ly/funkitpod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/funkitpod/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/funkitpod ----------  Patreon: https://patreon.com/funkitpod

As always a quick look back at what happened in the world of MMA and a quick thought on why Kelvin Gastelum just can't stay in shape :-( #UFC #Bellator #PFLMMA #OneChampionship #BKFC

Look in my eyes, what do you see?

WHAT A WEEK OF WRESTLING! This is why we are fans of professional wrestling. Oh the highlights! Maybe it does pay out to have a 'Mark' run a #wrestling promotion? ;-) Tony Khan first gave us an a-capella concert of Judas in my mind (goose bumps!) and then later down the week followed that up with THE RETURN of the modern wrestling era. "I left professional wrestling in 2005, August 20 2021 I'm back" made grown men cry! #CMPUNK broke the hearts and the internet.

On the other side we saw a decent but mostly re-hashed go-home show of SmackDown (with intense Edge! yay!) to prepare us for SummerSlam. And SummerSlam....was wack. Mostly. Edge and Rollins delivered the best told story and edgecution (ha!) but how #WWE botched (!) the return of THE MAN Becky Lynch is something only they can answer. Goldberg vs Lashley. Lame. McIntyre vs Mahal. Lame. Eva Marie vs Alexa Bliss...don't get me started.

Not even the main event 'made sense' as all the moves of doom didn't do anything to shake the Roman Empire. Luckily however we can always count on Vince to take out the cheque book when needed and so we saw Brock Lesnar (and Paul Heyman! What an actor!) saving SummerSlam from being talked about as one of the lamest ever to the one with the shock return!

In this weeks episode we quickly talk about some of the more noteworthy news coming out of the tech/media realm. Elon Musk is not Tony Starks, he's the creator of Skynet. Not even kidding. FB is trying to help people in Afghanistan by locking their accounts, China is back at it, T-Mobile got hacked and, most importantly, ONLYFANS BANS PORN!

The main topic of this week's episode however focuses on how mainstream media covers Afghanistan and how the echo chamber / filter bubble, that we hear about so much but never take seriously, is real.

A quick look back at how Gane dismantled Derrick Lewis (was he even there?), how vintage Aldo turned back time and how Vicente Luque emerged as the latest contender for Kamaru Usman.

We also look ahead to Rory McDonald's return to the PFL and Moussasi's return to the Bellator cage.

This week's wrestling wednesday is a little less excited than usual as both AEW as well as WWE put on some less exciting shows than the week prior. Both shows still have been ok-good but not super amazing. A few storylines have been moved forward though so it's all good and certainly still entertaining when looking back at this week's AEW Dyanamite Homecoming as well as WWE's SmackDown. Even though I still believe that the Labors of Jericho and the Roman storyline respectively will be buried in a way that will leave fans disappointed.
