FuseBox Radio Broadcast

** Due to some extended travel, we weren't able to get a new show up but however, we still wanted to give our listeners something to listen to with for this week's radio show with a flashback episode...enjoy! **

This is a flashback episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the weeks of June 4 & 11, 2014 (originally broadcast on August 15, 2012) with some new and classic music from the international Black Diaspora, news and commentary.

Our extended commentary this week touched base on the latest info drop by Wikileaks about TRAPWIRE, really mutated animals being discovered around the Fukishma nuclear power plant in Japan, the verdict & international outcry for Russian metal group P***y Riot, the internet back and forth on whether Hip-Hop MC Nas has used ghostwriters or not, the sad passing of classic Soul Music producer Carl Davis (The King of Chicago Soul), some fool in Florida who got arrested because a woman's "booty looked so good, I just couldn't resist touching it" and some other things here and there.

PLUS Some Extra Special Hidden Tracks in the Jon Judah Master Mix w/ Old School Black Music Classics and Independent Music Finds

This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah (aka Ausar Ra Black Hawk) for the week of April 2, 2014 with some new and classic music from the international Black Diaspora, news and commentary.

Our commentary for this week's brand new show focused on the passing & importance of DJ & producer Frankie Knuckles aka "Godfather of House", the latest shooting tragedy at Fort Hood, the small amount of self-identified Black Bookstores currently in the U.S., some decent wins in the fight against corporate media consolidation via the FCC, a foolish writer at the Washington Post being mad at Black academic excellence getting mainstream media attention for some reason, a ridiculous politician fighting for the right to have "chicken boxing" and some other things here & there.

There is a brand new Black Agenda Report news mini-segment on this week's episode.

Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast over at our official blog, BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

** Due to some computer issues in the FuseBox Radio Broadcast lab we just got repaired, we just wanted to give our listeners something to listen to with a bonus flashback episode from a few year's back...enjoy! **

This is a special extra flashback episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of March 26, 2014 (originally broadcast on March 30, 2011) with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.

Our commentary during that week focused on the latest updates with the after effects of the earthquake + tsunami in Japan, the recent U.N. intervention in Libya news, the possible upcoming U.S. government shutdown due to budget issues and why it's just ridiculous how politicians are dragging this along, the re-birth of the "Birther" fake controversy with President Barack Obama and some other diverse topics here and there.

We also had a great interview with Forbes magazine staff writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg about the creative inspiration, work & drama behind his latest book, "Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner to Corner Office".

From the book's website (http://www.JayZBook.com):

Empire State of Mind tells the story behind Jay-Z’s rise to the top as told by the people who lived it with him–from classmates at Brooklyn’s George Westinghouse High School; to the childhood friend who got him into the drug trade; to the DJ who convinced him to stop dealing and focus on music. This book explains just how Jay-Z propelled himself from the bleak streets of Brooklyn to the heights of the business world.

Zack O’Malley Greenburg draws on his one-on-one interviews with hip-hop luminaries such as DJ Clark Kent, Questlove of The Roots, Damon Dash, Fred “Fab 5 Freddy” Brathwaite, MC Serch; NBA stars Jamal Crawford and Sebastian Telfair; and recording industry executives including Craig Kallman, CEO of Atlantic Records, to paint a tantalizing portrait of a very private mogul. Greenburg also reveals new information on Jay-Z’s various business dealings, such as:

* The feature movie about Jay-Z and his first basketball team that was filmed by Fab 5 Freddy in 2003 but never released.
* The Jay-Z branded Jeep that was scrapped just before going into production.
* The real story behind his association with Armand de Brignac champagne.
* The financial ramifications of his marriage to Beyonce.

PLUS Some Extra Special Hidden Tracks in the Jon Judah Master Mix w/ Old School Black Music Classics and Independent Music Finds

This is a flashback episode of the FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah (aka Ausar Ra Black Hawk) for the week of March 5, 2014 (originally broadcast on April 9, 2008) with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul music, news and commentary.

That week's commentary was on some new updates on the U.S. Presidential Election process and doing an introduction for this week's interview guest, Lisa F. Jackson, the director of the HBO Documentary, "The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo" (premieres April 8, 2008 with numerous showings afterward).

This documentary focuses on the war zone conflicts of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), why the war is and has been occurring throughout the years (natural resource control, affects of colonialism carryovers, etc.) and the effects it has on the women sexually abused in that region by soldiers (Congolese, UN, etc.), the soldiers themselves and others trying to help them as best they can to assist these women in these circumstances.

It's an extremely good (yet very sad and harsh) documentary with a bit of hope up in there I think folks should definitely check out.

The official website for the "The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo" movie is: http://www.TheGreatestSilence.org.
