In episode one of Future Imagineers I speak with Ant Jarvis of the acclaimed "The Amiga Show" and his use of the NewTek Video Toaster and Amiga Personal Computer to create a brand new YouTube documentary series using 35+ year old techology with new upgrades and elements in his setup.

The VideoToaster was a ground breaking broadcast quality linear editing system that was further enhanced with the Video Toaster Flyer Non Linear editing system launched in the mid 90s.

Join us as Ant tells us his background, what the VideoToaster is, how he uses it in 2022, and how TV programmes of the past has influenced his production.  

"Future Imagineers" is a brand new podcast from Vix of "Pixel Vixen in Japan" on YouTube which not only talks about the creative technology of the past, but how creatives all over the world are using it in 2022 in combination with other retro technology in concert with modern day technology to create exciting new artwork, music, video, photography, video games and so much more.  

Rather than dwell on the nostalgia for nostalgia's sake, I am inviting invigorating and interesting creatives to tell their story of how they are leveraging the tools of the past in the present, from synthesizers, drum machines, personal computers, games consoles, retro software packages etc. sometimes mixing with state of the art technology. 

I aim to ask deeper reaching questions of not just the guest, but creative motivations, challenging the necessity of using older tech and finding out what really makes this stuff tick.
