  • Reaching College Students on Campus
Kevin Inman discusses the mission and history of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Louisiana Tech, highlighting its centennial celebration and long-standing family legacy in campus ministry. He emphasizes the critical importance of reaching students during their first weeks on campus through relational outreach and shared meals to combat spiritual drift. The conversation underscores the vital role of the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program in funding full-time ministers and supporting global missions without the burden of individual fundraising. Inman shares personal anecdotes of student conversions and the power of intentional evangelism, noting that college ministry serves as a primary pipeline for future missionaries. He encourages churches to actively support these ministries financially and through prayer to ensure the gospel reaches young adults effectively.

  • 5 What Jesus Meant by the Abomination of Desolation - Mark 13:14-23
Why does Jesus tell His followers to run when the "abomination of desolation" appears? Can you outrun God's judgment—and if God's wrath is not directed at His people, why does Jesus tell them to flee and pray? Jesus moves from the "beginning of pains" to the terrifying period of tribulation associated with the abomination of desolation. In the Olivet Discourse, we examine what the abomination of desolation means, its connection to Daniel, its partial fulfillment in the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, and its apparent future fulfillment at the end of the age. We also explore the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist, God's purpose in judgment, and the surprising biblical connection between tribulation and God's mercy. My sermons are the fruit of nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, biblical counseling, formal seminary training, and a lifelong passion for God's Word. Since childhood, I've been drawn to the beauty and power of expository preaching—opening Scripture verse by verse and applying it to real life. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Sacred Literature and a Doctor of Religious Studies. For more content from D. Richard Ferguson, visit TreasuringGod.com. • A Heart Not Weighed Down
Question: What do we need to watch for in relation to Christ's Coming so that we will be counted worthy to escape all the things that will come to pass in the future in relation to the Lord's judgments? Answer: We need to take heed that our hearts are not weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and the cares of this life. And so we need to ask ourselves another question: Does the way that I am living my life, both privately and publicly show to my Lord that I should be counted worthy to escape all these things of chastening and earthly judgments, and the eternal judgment of hell? Certainly, we know that none of us is worthy of the mercy that has been shown to us in Christ. But there is a judgment that will be rendered on the Last Day when Christ returns. And that judgment will be whether or not we were counted worthy to escape all the judgments which God will bring. These verses are saying that Christ's disciples need to take heed; it may indeed be possible that we could become weighed down with the cares of this life, and even drunkenness and carousing, and not be ready for His return. He could come suddenly and unexpectedly to that person, and they would be ashamed at His Coming. The goal of the Christian life is that we would walk worthy of His having called and chosen us.

  • 17 Spiritual Vision Model, Israel, & the Kingdom of God
The sermon argues against the allegorical interpretation of Scripture, which it attributes to Greek philosophy and figures like Augustine, asserting that this approach undermines the literal fulfillment of God's promises to Israel. It contends that spiritualizing Old Testament prophecies about the land and kingdom is a deceptive lie that denies the future physical restoration of national Israel and the earth. The speaker emphasizes that Israel remains central to God's redemptive plan as the lens through which He reveals Himself to the nations and the channel for blessing the world. By examining passages such as Amos 9 and Romans 11, the text highlights God's irrevocable covenant with Abraham's descendants and His ultimate purpose to restore creation under Messiah's reign from Jerusalem. The message concludes by affirming that trusting in literal interpretation is essential for understanding the scope of future glory and the faithfulness of God.

  • 27 - Incentives to Glorify God [B]
After learning first that eternal salvation, justification by faith alone, is only by faith alone in Christ alone, the question arises: doesn't this understanding of grace mean that we can sin all we want with impunity? The answer is no. This raises the question of accountability. What accountability is there? We are mandated in Scripture to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Pet. 3:18a). Learn what it means to have shame at the coming of the Lord. Understand that there are several different judgments, not all of which relate to eternal destiny. What exactly is the Judgment Seat of Christ and how does it affect believers in Christ? There are important instructions in Scripture to see how God provides incentives for us to pursue spiritual growth and maturity. The decisions to grow spiritually come many times every day. What choices will you make?
