On Wednesday, Tump “rescinded protections for transgender students that had allowed them to use bathrooms corresponding with their gender identity.”

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos resisted, citing potential harm for transgender students.

Sessions pushed her to relent but eventually took it to Tump

“and Ms. DeVos, faced with the alternative of resigning or defying the president, agreed to go along.”

According to USA Today, Human Rights Campaign Senior Vice President Mary Beth Maxwell “noted that more than 1,000 parents of transgender children had asked Tump, in a letter, to ‘defend the rights, safety, dignity’ of their children.”

It’s not about bathrooms, it’s about stepping backwards.
