Lawyers should critically examine how psychiatric systems intersect with civil and constitutional rights, while learning to communicate more effectively with people harmed by psychiatry. Better communication between lawyers and psychiatric survivors could help more alleged injustices receive serious legal scrutiny and, where warranted, reach the courts.
