One reason that multilateral institutions like the WTO have seen their effectiveness and credibility wither away in recent years, is their unwieldy size and mandate. There are simply too many interest groups and competing objectives too reconcile. The G20 on the other hand is a rare example of a multi-country grouping that is reasonably large but still manages to get things done.

 This year’s G20 Leadership Summit will be hosted in New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
