OH MY GOD WE’RE BACK AGAIN. (apparently making references to late 90’s pop songs is cool right now, just ask Stingray.)

The GABA Cast Triumvirate returns to discuss everything from week one of the 2016 college football season. This was billed as the best opening weekend in history, and it certainly delivered the goods: Steve Spurrier wore something that looked like a Weekend at Bernie’s t-shirt, Bryan Kelly and Gus Mahlzan played musical quarterback chairs, Chad Kelly got blown up in the second half and then got roasted on Twitter, Dan Mullen wore shorts, and Joey Freshwater took out 52 points worth of aggression on his former employer.

Also, the South Carolina Gamecocks are 1-0. Did you know that? The Boom era is here and we’re going to be irrational and optimistic (well, DC3 won’t be) and we just don’t care.

In addition to soaking up all of the enjoyment we can from the week one win over the Commode-doors, we dive into the week two match-up against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, including what we can expect to see from the defense, offense, and what the win over Vanderbilt really means moving forward.

The college football season is upon us. Yes, it's really here, and we couldn't be more happy, excited, nervous, terrified, anxious, and utterly clueless about what's going to go down when the Gamecocks finally start their 2016 campaign against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Who's going to be our starting QB? Why does Will Muschamp want to go fishing with a frying pan? Are Ole Miss and Florida State fans really identical on the inside? Will Dabo say something really crazy after they beat Auburn by 2 points? Will someone please explain to us why Alabama is playing in Los Angeles, and LSU is playing in Lambeau Field?

The sweet silence before the deafening thunder of the 2016 college football season is upon us.

Not as happy as this guy, but you get the picture. 

In this week's episode, Sam and DC3 relive their favorite Clemson memories in our final offseason retrospective (check here and here) before diving head-first into the fast approaching football season (I mean...we will play football games this year...we're just not sure what kind they'll be). The whole crew is back this week as our offseason retrospective continues. This week we reminisce about the time the South Carolina Gamecocks clinched the SEC East with a win over the Florida Gators, and to help us recount tales of this and other Florida memories, we were fortunate enough to have Rixon Lane join us on the show. We go way off topic, DC3 experiences horrible hotel parking lot wifi, and Rhonda gets called to the Big Lots halfway through the show, but we power on and have a good time doing it.

This week, as the GABA Cast offseason retrospective rolls along, we welcome former Gamecock stalwart Langston Moore onto the podcast to talk about the 2013 Double-OT win at Mizzou. We break down what happened in the game, from the offensive struggles of the first half to the fairy-tale comeback in the fourth quarter led by Connor Shaw all the way to the missed field goal that gave the Gamecocks a victory over a top-5 team on the road for the first time in more than 40 years. We also discuss the future of South Carolina Gamecocks football, and relive some of Langston's favorite moments (hint: Lou Holtz stories) from his time at Carolina and we talk about what's going on in his life outside of the Gamecock Sports Network, including his children's book, Just a Chicken, and the Eat2Win camps he conducts once a year.
