We thought this would be a fun back to the basics episode. We have all been there. Strong practice then we fall out of it then our bodies change then we can't figure out what practice we should go back too.

In this powerful and soul-baring episode of Gals Off The Grid, we follow a deeply personal journey of trauma, healing, and returning home — not just to a place, but to the self.

Our Co-Host, Valentina Bain shares how a childhood marked by chronic illness, emotional disconnection, and a sense of not belonging led her on a search for identity and freedom. At 15, a class trip to Paris changed everything — sparking a deep sense of resonance, beauty, and soul-alignment.

"For the first time in my life, I felt like I belonged — like I could breathe in my own skin."

But the story took a dark turn. At 17, she entered a dangerous relationship with an older man in Paris that led to trauma, fear, and an emergency return home. The aftershocks of that experience echoed through decades of her life — manifesting in patterns of unhealthy relationships, self-abandonment, and unresolved emotional pain.

"That trauma lived in my body for years — and I didn't even realize how much it was running the show."

Through years of deep inner work — including journaling, EFT tapping, self-love rituals, Emotion Code therapy, and aroma freedom — she began to unwind the patterns and reconnect with her truth.

And then, more than 20 years later… she returned to Paris.
