Throwing Shades is the newest podcast launch for the GALvanize Podcast Network. In the first episode, Alyssia, Emily & Gabi introduce themselves and talk about their mission to disrupt normalcy in the sports industry through the honesty and vulnerability that makes GALvanize so unique. Alyssia breaks down the importance of Black Women GALvanize and what GALvanizers should expect from the Sensational Six in the future.

Recently the Premier Lacrosse League finished their reduced season and were one of the first sports to successfully get it done during the pandemic.  Lisa talks to us about how they successfully and safely had a season in a bubble.  Lisa was at NBC Sports Washington when she realized she wanted to make the move out west which is when the PLL job came up.  She talks about the journey to be a host and her transition to California.    

Ian goes in depth about how he grew up with parents that were in show business.  He also talks about where he gets work ethic from.  Ian emphasizes the importance of family and having that balance.  With the world so connected, Ian tells us why he's not on social media but some fun he had with his son over quarantine.  I admired how open he was with me and I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

GALvanize Superstar and Social Media Coordinator Gabby Dunham joins Gabrielle to talk about the "Who Not Do" series, while Emily is out in the woods.  Gabi talks about her "who" and what is coming up for the GALvanize platform.  She also talks about some of her favorite parts of the series and her takeaways from it.    

On today’s episode, Emily and Gab talk to Kaya Jones, a Philadelphia Fellow for IGNITE, an organization dedicated to empower young women to be more civically engaged, and provides them the tools and resources to step into their political power. Kaya is passionate about the advancement of equity, equality, diversity and inclusion for women and minorities in leadership positions, and shared how women in the media industry can support women running for office through storytelling. Jackie talks to Gabrielle and Emily about her time as a Seahawk Cheerleader and how that led her to wanting to work in sports.  She also mentions to the girls who her "who" is in her journey.  Jackie gives good advice on people in the industry who have multiple passions, as well.  

Bridget is the Network Studio Host for the Mountain West Conference.  She talks about taking a job right before the pandemic and the independence that came with moving to a different state.  She also talks about her side business she started during the pandemic.  

The Great Outdoors with Hailey Sutton.  She also talks about the challenges of accepting a job in a new place in a small community.  She also talks about starting a job right before the pandemic and some of the struggles that come with it.  Hailey mentions some of her hard lessons that she has faced. 

Emily also has her "Who not Do" interviewee Amy Trask on the BONUS episode. 

Hannah talks about always wanting to work in sports but not in the common jobs that we see today. Hannah has been with the Philadelphia Phillies as their Mental Skills Coordinator since 2018.  She talks about what impacts player mental skills and how reporters can better support players.    

Carolina talks to Gabrielle and Emily about the dynamic of Texas sports media.  She is the first female in 10 years to be a San Antonio sports-radio host.  She also talks to the women about what it is like being a mom in the sports field.
