As the Ghost Host of this podcast, I've seen a lot of unexplainable videos, photographs and heard some pretty remarkable stories. But, it wasn't until recently that I had my first close encounter of a paranormal kind.
It happened in the legendary Gingerbread house and you'll hear all about it on this episode. And, for those considering a Ghost Bus Tour, we even captured a video of what may be the spirit I encountered. You can see the video on the Ghost Bus Tour from the Galveston Experience Company - www.GalvestonExperience.com - and we hope to interview the non-spirit you'll see in the video for our next episode of the Galveston Ghost Podcast.
There's a reason why the Hotel Galvez is considered one of the most haunted places on Galveston Island. We get more stories from here than any other single location, and when you hear Mitchell tell what happened to him, you'll understand why he went from skeptic to believer in a matter of minutes.
You'll also hear about a new Galveston Ghost Hunt that will take you to some of the most historic and haunted places on Galveston Island, several of which have been featured on the Galveston Ghost Podcast. Hunt ghosts at the Hotel Galvez, the Menard Home, Gingerbread House, Moody Mansion, Aston Villa, at Pirate Jean Lafitte's Maison Rouge, Bishops Palace and down on the strand at BLU, Mysticatz and many other locations.

The Galveston Ghost Podcast celebrates our second year with a return to the room where it all started, Room 501 at the Galvez. We recap some of the many things that have happen since we started the Podcast, including starting our Ghost Bus Tours, learning of many more haunted Island locations, creating the 501 Club on Facebook for people to share their stories, and coming soon the Galveston Ghost Hunt.
COVID caused us to pause our bus tours for the month of April, and we used that time to create a new Galveston App which can be found at www.Galveston.VIP - and it includes a HAUNTED GALVESTON section, definitely worth checking out - and soon you'll see our new Ghost Hunt appear here.
Thanks to Hotel Paranormal for their use of the audio clip from the Galvez. You can hear more about this story on Episode #19 of the Galveston Ghost Podcast, and see the photo of the Ghost who appeared outside his window on the cover page of that episode. Watch the complete episode including the video taken from the room that night on Season 1, Episode 5 "When Ghosts Attach" on Hotel Paranormal with Dan Aykroyd.
We first met Michelle, the Owner of BLU in December of 2018 when we were searching locations for the Galveston Ghost Bus Tour and www.GalvestonExperience.com and at that time she shared some of the paranormal happenings in her store. Later, we learned of a security video of a heavy crystal lamp moving and falling off a sales counter, and another of a large painting flying off the wall - even there was not any breeze in the store at all.
In this episode, Michelle tells more about both these occurrences as well as a spirit who entertained some of her customers with a piano performance.

The more we talk to the owners of the Gingerbread House, the more stories are revealed. In this episode you'll also hear from the husband who, with his wife, own what may be the most haunted house on Galveston Island. We'll also revisit the Broadway Cemetery.
We also mention the 501 Club on Facebook and how the topic of the Gingerbread house has resulted in a plan to do an overnight ghost hunt in the house. We first learned of the Gingerbread house from some guests who were staying there over the 4th of July weekend in 2019. They shared their haunted experiences and were so shaken by what they witnessed that they refused to go back and stay for the rest of the weekend. Another guest who was on our Ghost Bus Tour on Halloween of 2019 shared the owners contact information with us and Ghosthunter Kate met her at the house to do an interview.
In addition, Kate researched the history of the house, it's owners and boarders. At least one of whom may still be there today.

Just off the Strand at 20th Street in Galveston sits the historic Peanut Butter Warehouse where we had heard several reports of guests experiencing Poltergeist activity, some even seeing a ghostly figure at the bar with a gunshot wound in the head. We paid a visit to talk to Alma and Tommy who are the proprietors of the Marketplace and the Three Doors Down Bar who shared their experience with the ghost they have named "Jack".
For our loyal Podcast listeners who are interested in taking one of the Ghost Bus Tours from the Galveston Experience Company, we also provide a discount code in the Podcast so you can enjoy the interactive audio video experience and firsthand stories on the Galveston Ghost Bus.
