I have been running from war for a long time now, as war in my city Donetsk started in 2014, losing childhood friends, relatives, it was really hard for me. I managed to finish my education as a dentist, besides being a professional football player in Hutteen senior team from 2015
Now it became impossible for me to continue my career in Ukraine or in Syria. I hope I will be given the chance to continue my football career here in Galway. In Ireland from the first day it felt like home, people here are kind, generous, friendly, in brief they are amazing, Ireland is like one big family.
Words cannot express how much I'm grateful for Ireland and Ireland people.

The Minister overseeing the housing of Ukrainian refugees says the the use or more large grouped accommodation is likely. More than half of the accommodation pledged by Irish people through the Red Cross hasn't materialised and it's anticipated there will be a shortage by the end of next week.
Minister Roderic O'Gorman says 4000 extra beds will become available on 3rd level campuses from the end of May, but it still won't meet demand. Here in Galway, huge efforts are underway to provide emergency accommodation and one of the communities which has rallied is Oranmore.

The 20 year old, from Monivea, died at UHG on Tuesday morning after being injured during a match between Athenry and Ardrahan on Monday.
Her teammates, neighbours and members of the Galway camogie community near and far gathered to remember Kate at last night’s event at Kenny Park.
