Segment 5: Baseball movies have been around forever.  However, the charm of “The Sandlot” has helped turn this film into a classic.  The flick turns 25 this year, and some of its stars are helping fans of the game celebrate the anniversary.  Eric talked films and the grand ole game with the actors the played Bertram Weeks (Grant Gelt) and Tommy “Repeat” Timmons (Shane Obedzinski) when they recently visited Target Field.

Segment 2: It’s not all about baseball during the Summer.  Our hosts take a turn to roller coasters for a bit.  Then, another defending champion will not lift the World Cup.  We hear about Germany’s stunning out in the Group Stage and some ugly incidents between Argentinian and Croatian fans.

Our hold on the Upper Midwest expands for one week.  Larry takes care of the hosting duties from the Downtown Minneapolis studio, while Eric checks in from Chicago, where the Twins are taking in the sights of both Guaranteed Rate Field and Wrigley Field this week.  The focus mainly stays on the Twins, with bullpen coach Eddie Guardado lending some of his expertise on this season’s club.  We also get a grander look at the game when Grant Gelt and Shane Obedzinski discuss their roles in the classic coming-of-age baseball film, “The Sandlot”.  Plus, we’ll see a new World Cup champion, it’s gearing up to be a wild stint of NBA free agency, and the Lynx look to find their championship mettle.
