There are words to describe the week across the region, but chaotic might be one of the best.  Same goes for the sports world.  Eric and Larry are here to calm the waters of this hectic time on the sports calendar.  They take to the Downtown Minneapolis studio to chat about the Wild and Wolves struggling in their postseason runs, the Twins finally getting to play some baseball, and the NFL schedule, hot off the presses.  They also welcome GDG’s own Tom Tuttle along for the ride to talk Twin Cities sports.

Segment 1: It looks like Spring has finally arrived, but only after a historic snowstorm rolled through the Upper Midwest.  The guys talk weather and how it can cause us to bring out the good side of humanity.

Segment 5: The Upper Plains are split this week as the Wild and Jets tussle in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  While we have the Minnesota side of the series covered, GDG’s Scott Taylor is giving us perspective from the Winnipeg angles.  He joins the program to discuss Game 1 of series and what he’s looking forward to the rest of the way.

Segment 4: There’s a lot of buzz now that the Wolves have broken their postseason drought.  Following Wednesday’s game, Larry got the chance to hear from Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague, and head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Segment 3: There’s turnover for the Gopher women’s basketball team.  With a vacancy (Marlene Stollings is going to Texas Tech), the choice to lead the program is current Lynx star and Gopher legend Lindsay Whalen.  How will she handle juggling these two positions?  Eric and Larry dive into this intriguing hire.

Segment 2: It was a big Wednesday for Twin Cities sports.  It included a matinee walk-off, as the Twins winning the three-game series against the defending champion Houston Astros.  But will the entire four-game series against Chicago even get in this weekend?  Plus, the fellas get back into the upcoming NBA Playoffs.

It’s a fight between Spring and Winter as we approach mid-April…and the weather’s just the tip of the iceberg.  Eric and Larry return to the Downtown Minneapolis studio to talk about the tug-o-war that this area’s Spring and Winter teams are having on our attention spans.  The Timberwolves have ended their long-suffering streak by making the postseason for the first time in nearly a decade and a half.  The guys give their reaction, plus we hear from several playoff-bound Wolves (Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague, Tom Thibodeau).  The Wild are back in the chase for Lord Stanley’s Cup. GDG’s own Scott Taylor takes a look at the first-round series against Winnipeg.  The Twins made an impressive statement during the week.  But how much will they play over the weekend?  And one of the greatest Gopher hoopsters will take lead over the women’s program.  Oh, and Lindsay Whalen isn’t done playing just yet, either.

Segment 1: The Timberwolves gave hoops fans across Minnesota the light they’d been hoping to reach for over a decade.  The team clinched their first playoff berth in 14 years on Wednesday.  The guys recap the wild Winner-Take-All regular-season finale.  And do they have a shot against Houston?

Segment 6: What trophy is harder to win…the Stanley Cup or the Larry O’Brien?  Our hosts look at the difficulty of finishing first in the NHL and NBA.  And we hear about some future travel plans for the guys.

Segment 6: With the reverie of the home opener, some former Twins legends had our hosts thinking back to days of Vikings lore.  They reminisce on those great teams of the Purple People Eaters era.

Segment 5: The home opener was played on more of a football-weather day.  Jack Morris doesn’t mind, though.  The FSN analyst and new MLB Hall of Fame member chatted with Eric prior to Thursday’s game to review the season’s first week and look into the team’s rotation.

Segment 4: Baseball is a game, but it’s also a business.  Who better to talk about some of the items behind the scenes than Twins president Dave St. Peter.  Larry sat down with him to discuss Target Field, this offseason’s free agency market, and where things stand with Brian Dozier’s next potential contract.
