A lot has happened this week with Atomic Heart finally getting released along with reviews, PSVR 2 is out in the wild, Xbox made some headway with its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard King and State of Play received mixed reactions.

Xbox Game Pass was subject to more critique as Microsoft's own statements to regulators suggest that it is cannibalising sales, leading many critics of the service to cite Phil Spencer's previous statements which contradict this. It has been an interesting week for gaming news. The Xbox seems to have been hit by a few setbacks and negative PR with Redfall being confirmed to have DRM, The Coalition has cancelled its new IP and is now full steam ahead on Gears of War. Playstation enjoyed positive growth compared to Xbox and also celebrated 11 million copies sold of God of War Ragnarok. The Dead Space Remake is getting lots of love and its easy to see why. Hogwarts Legacy is set to become a huge success. There is a lot to discuss this week!

It has been a very tough week for the tech industry, Microsoft and game  studios such as Bethesda and 343 as mass layoffs besiege the market  having a devastating impact on the livelihoods of many in the field. 343  Industries is a studio that has suffered such a fate and the future of  Halo Infinite seems extremely sketchy. The Xbox and Bethesda Developer  Direct is a few days away and we discuss our expectations for the show.  Forspoken's review embargo is about to be lifted and there are some odd  practices from Square Enix that have caused many to question whether the  game may not perform that well critically.

Finally we get official confirmation of the Xbox event by way of the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct; a new format for the Xbox team. Starfield will be getting its own event and there are murmurs of it slipping past the 12 month promise that Xbox game last year. Ubisoft appears to be in dire straits and we discuss the possible future of the publisher.
