The trade deadline has come and gone and we have seen players like James Harden, Ben Simmons, and CJ McCollum on their new teams. We discuss how the title picture has changed, the impact of some of these moves. And what teams are hot right now as well. To call off the episode we get into the awards race as the season rolled into the last quarter.

To start off the new year, Zach and Jahmir discuss the concept of tanking vs. rebuilding, pros and cons behind it and if it is an ethical approach to team building. With NBA Christmas games on the horizon, Zach and Jahmir get into the upcoming Christmas games and end up discussing the impact Covid has had on the league. Then their wishes for the NBA for the upcoming year are discussed, ranging from Portland and Dallas roster shake-ups to the Ben Simmons saga coming to a conclusion. The NBA has played a little over a fourth of the season at this point, Zach and Jahmir must have some thoughts right? Yes, they discuss some teams who have met or exceeded expectations so far like the Bulls and Warriors. But, also talk about teams who have disappointed so far like the Celtics and Trailblazers along with discussing the new rules a bit and projecting where teams may stack up around the All-Star Break.

We look into the NBA 75th anniversary list that was released this season. We talk about our initial thoughts and try to understand how this list was cobbled together. We delve into the list of voters as well, thinking about the objectivity of the list.

20th episode!!! We discuss the round 3 series of the WNBA playoffs which featured the two lower-seeded teams prevailing. We get into the Mercury-Aces series and try to figure out how the prohibitive favorite Aces were taken down by an injury-riddled Phoenix team, and discuss Bill Laimbeer’s coaching style. We also get into the impressive and dominant performance by the Sky, who took down the top-seeded Sun with strong team-play and a five-out offense. Following that we preview the Sky-Mercury matchup and give our predictions as to who wins the 2021 WNBA Championship along with some keys to victory for both teams.
