It has been two years since Irene was kidnapped by the mysterious woman. Leon, Henbit, Blythe, and Captain Halliwell have finally tracked their adversary down to an abandoned tower in the middle of the desert.

After a pitched battle and a lucky duck, they are able to free Irene and begin the long journey home. Except, Irene decides to take a shortcut using a new trick she learned.

Irene, Leon, and Henbit stay with the formerly cursed child until he is ready to return home, learning more of the woman who cursed him. It turns out Irene has seen this woman before, long ago at a party her parents threw. This woman may be immortal and is from far north of the Undying Empire.

They continue on, crossing the river via ferry paid for with shiny rocks. Then they encounter some strange constructs that turn out to be more of a distraction than anything.

Irene gets kidnapped by the mysterious figure who invited her to meet with Blythe.

A long war draws into a stalemate between the citizens of Zehollow and the Undying Empire. We witness the birth of the Brazen, a guerilla group who view this valley as theirs. They eventually form an alliance with the Undying Empire, becoming the official owners and forming their seat of power in the Brazen Beerhall (which sucks).

We also see the return of those who disappeared into Bazburg over the years. They won’t say why they have returned.
