Gaming On the Brain

Yes, only 60%! We slipped off course a few times and went down some rabbit holes on this one but that's what happens when you throw a special guest host and alcohol into the cauldron. This week we welcome Gary Head to the panel as we talk about the Mortal Kombat games and flex our knowledge on the history of the first 3 games in the franchise. Don't forget to like or subscribe and please drop us a comment. Let us know if you want us to bring Gary back on some future episodes. We certainly would like to. If your listening on Spotify then please leave us a review as this apparently helps massively with the algorithm. Thanks and please enjoy.

The boys are back this week with another Golden Axe game. This time the discussion is all about the less celebrated Mega Drive sequel Golden Axe II. Drop by and join us for a shorter than usual episode where Glenn is not only fighting Death Bringer and his minions but also a nasty case of man-flu. Don’t forget to like/subscribe and also feel free to add us as a friend on Facebook at Gaming onthe Brain.

Well, they made it to episode 10. The GOTB podcast is officially throwing its non-existent hat in the ring and copying all of the other gaming channels out there with our very own top 10 favourite 8-bit retro games countdown. However, 2 hosts mean Glenn and Mark have their own 10 games each…. That’s double the fun and easily makes our episode twice as good as the rest, unless were up against a top 20. Did your favourites make either list? Drop us some feedback and let us know what your top 10 8-bit games are. Hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel, and share with your friends.

Glenn finally got round to watching the TV adaptation of Sony Entertainment’s Twisted Metal TV series so, as a break from the norm, instead of a game, this week we are giving you our take on how the TV series faired and comparing it with the games that it is adapted from. Warning, there will be spoilers, but you have had a while to get it watched so you can only blame yourself if we ruin it for you. Don’t forget to add us on facebook to keep up with the latest GOTB news.

In this week’s episode we cover one of the lesser know Konami beat-em up’s of the 90’s. Built on the Mystic warrior hardware, Violent Storm, follows the basic template for the beat em up that was etched in stone with Capcom’s Final Fight. Does the additional humour, outstanding sound design, and excellent use of colour make this one stand out from the crowd? Listen to the podcast to find out. Don’t forget to add us on facebook and X to keep up the date with all the GOTB news.

Join Mark and Glenn in this weeks episode as we experience the triplicated fun of action, run, and destroy in the arcade smash hit, Alien Storm.
