Gaming Under The Influence

Welcome back to Gaming Under The Influence, with Mike and Alex;  This weeks topics include the next gen console war. The software library battle is ramping up, will Microsoft's Game Pass be enough to sell the new Xbox and take on the PS5?  We also dive into some more of The last of us Part 2's alleged ludonarrative dissonance, which we do not believe is an issue with this game and are more concerned with the creator's broken messaging about the game.  Lastly we reminisce a little bit about Mafia 3, a great game seemingly forgotten shortly after launch. Highly underrated and unfairly criticized in our opinion, definitely worth a playthrough.  Sit back, grab a drink and enjoy, Cheers.  Greendragoncvr.com

Welcome back to Gaming Under The Influence, with Mike and Alex; This week The Last of Us Part 2 finally drops, despite our initial apprehension we've decided to jump in.  Reception within the first ten hours is very lukewarm unfortunately.  We also dive into the first ever Pokemon DLC! Isle Of Armor expansion for Sword and Shield has proven to be a nice add on to extend the world. A short bit on Red Dead Redemption 2, late in the game things begin to unravel for the gang.  Join us for a drink, as we disagree with universal acclaim.

Welcome back to Gaming Under The Influence, with Mike and Alex; This week we finally hear more about the PS5! No less than a week prior we expressed our low expectations for next gen. Sony heard the call and delivered the big news including Demon's Souls Remake on the PS5, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Returnal, Resident Evil VIII, Kena: Bridge of the Spirits, Little Devil Inside, Tokyo Ghostwire gameplay and lots more.  Sony has big ambitions for next gen, and we are thrilled to finally be looking forward to some big games and exclusive next gen IP's.

Welcome back to Gaming Under The Influence, with Mike and Alex; This week's main discussions include a recapping of some of the games that released so far in 2020. Doom Eternal, Nioh 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Maneater, and Gears Tactics. Alex details his new PC building adventure and his first custom water cooling loop. A little of bit of The Last of Us 2 and more! Join us as we dive under the influence into this weeks episode. Cheers.

We are back again NOT@ GreenDragonCVR, still recording from the basements! This week we discuss Alex's dive back into Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PC, as well as Mikes fascination with Maneater!  We also touch on Sony's showcase for Ghosts of Tsushima, and the announcement of Sony's PS5 reveal event which has already been postponed :( Enjoy, stay safe and under the influence!

Finally back at it, not @GreenDragonCVR, but recording from home and playing copious amounts of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.  We bring you our thoughts on that as well as some dirty spoilers about The Last Of Us 2, you've been warned! While I think we got most of it wrong anyway we are nonetheless disappointed.  We also dive into a little discussion about next gen hardware and consoles vs PCs. Cheers from home.

This week we delve into interviews with the developers of Bleeding Edge to discover the artistic compromise in the dna of live service games. Next, Alex lays out the road to the Final Fantasy VII remake. Also touching on the future of Ubisoft.

Back at it again, with Alex heavily influenced and playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo live now on the Playstation Store.  We also discuss the Nioh 2 Last Chance Demo and our return to the original game. They are also both launching exclusively on PS4; who ****ed up and forgot to secure these for release across all consoles?

Back again with Gaming Under the Influence @ Green Dragon; gaming has a business problem, we've got some thoughts on a possible path for harmony between video game publishers and the artistic ambitions of developers; the epic fantasy of Dragon Quest XI; Alex is grumpy about Smart Delivery; we love remakes and dislike mass market media - GUI 27

We're back after a week-long hiatus to complain once more about streaming, debunk the concept of ludo-narrative dissonance & delve into Pokemon home over some new Ontario craft brews.
