This is a VERY short version of a very long and complex subject.  Gang units and the public's understanding of gang culture, in my experience, is often WAY off.  They are also often lumped in as "gang members" despite huge differences between the different groups.  I will do a more in depth gang thing, but this is a 10 minute down and dirty on my experiences in this world.
