When I was growing up,like many people, I had low self-esteem and tremendous feelings of inferiority. It never occurred to me that I could be good at anything. When I saw other people who excelled at something, I admired them. At the same time, I felt inadequate and inferior in comparison to them. I felt that they had been blessed with intelligence, skills, and abilities that I was lacking. It never dawned on me that I could be like them.
One day, I had a revelation. It suddenly occurred to me that every one has the ability to be excellent at something. I realized that excellence was a journey, not a destination. One did not jump from mediocrity to excellence overnight. It was a long, slow process that anyone could embark upon and eventually achieve.
