There’s a new music venue in town and it stands as a tribute to the life and interests of Grateful Dead Legend, Jerry Garcia. Garcia’s Chicago opened in March and is located at 1001 West Washington Blvd in Chicago. Discussing the new club is music documentary/concert film director and music producer Jesse Lauter who is instrumental in what goes on to create the success for Garcia’s Chicago. With a nostalgic and unexpected menu of comfort food including Garcia’s personal faves (Italian beef sandwich and a vanilla/chocolate/strawberry shake) and much more, as well as an evening of fantastic music from the Garcia’s Chicago House Band and stars including Leo Kottke, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Holly Bowling and many more, you’ll want to check the website frequently for updates at: www.GarciasChicago.live
Welcome to Chicago Garcia’s….you are certainly in the home of the kind of comfort and family that was so important to you. Check it out!
Part Two: “Art” a Remy Bumppo Theatre Company production at Theater Wit through June 1st
The Art of making art is putting it together and the masterful casting of this production combined with a funny, warm and challenging script tells the story of three friends who come to odds when one of them buys a very expensive piece of art that the other two…well, just don’t like.
Joining the conversation are: Justin Albinder (who plays Marc), Chad Bay (playing Serge) and Eduardo Curly (playing Yvan) and director Marti Lyons. An exploration of character, plot and dynamics makes for a very fun and engaging conversation.
