The Prodigal Son is a great parable. Many times, we overlook the importance of the other son. He is not one that we usually identify with, but digger a little deeper into the story reminds us that sometimes we have to choose between being right and being in relationship.

Just as Zion cannot be shaken because of its relation to the Lord, so the righteous will not be shaken because of their relation to the Lord. Are we tying ourselves to the Lord?

Today, we are joined by Trevecca Nazarene University's Chaplin, Shawna Songer Gaines.

We begin a new series for the new year with the Songs of Ascents (Psalm 120-135). Today we ask the question, "Where does our help come from?"

The nativity on your mantle portrays the coming of our Savior in the perfect setting. The beauty of Christmas is the reminder that the story doesn't end at the nativity. Jesus entered a world that was lost and hopeless and become our light and hope.

Our sixth Article of Faith states, "We believe that Jesus Christ, by His sufferings, by the shedding of His own blood, and by His death on the Cross, made a full atonement for all human sin, and that this Atonement is the only ground of salvation, and that it is sufficient for every individual of Adam’s race."

Our fifth Article of Faith deals with sin. We have all sinned and are in need of a Savior.

Our third Article states, "We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Triune Godhead, that He is ever present and efficiently active in and with the Church of Christ, convincing the world of sin, regenerating those who repent and believe, sanctifying believers, and guiding into all truth as it is in Jesus."
