and its inhabitants. It's important to remember that several other European countries were

also involved in the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism in Africa, even though the

Portuguese and British were the main actors in these events. The Portuguese were among the

earliest European powers to explore the African coast in the 15th century. The profitability of

the slave trade played a significant role in the growth of the British economy during the 18th

century. Slavery was deeply entrenched in British colonies, and the system was maintained

through laws and violence.

While also looking at the three ways black people were pulled out of Africa and the scholars that document the events.
