She flees to Key Largo and finds the Last Chance Motel. There she heals from years of abuse. Hoping to begin anew, Lillian works hard to make a place for herself on the island of sun and play. And she finds new friends.
But it is not without cost. Lillian finds herself the victim of a stalker who is bent on making her new life as miserable as her old one. Only this time, Lillian is going to confront her tormenter - and she is determined to win.
But it may cost Lillian her life!
Sometimes the heat in the Keys just brings out the meanness in people!

No depth
i've read several of Abigail Keam's books and this is by far the least enjoyable of them. I really enjoyed the Josiah Reynolds mysteries, and I pretty much enjoyed the first of the Last Chance Motel books, but this one was at best perfunctory. The storyline was good and enjoyable, but there was no depth to any of the characters, and very little background given for most of them. The story cruised along rather like an ill-controlled bumper car. It careened into several plot points and characters as it picked up speed, but bounced off them just as easily and moments later plowed into the next one. The buildup felt very false, and was slightly confusing because of how truly peripheral characters suddenly popped to the forefront with no warning. I still enjoyed myself reading it, but that's because I'm very forgiving about lots of things like that as long as the book is part of a series I like overall, or if it's an author that I like in other ways. That's the only reason that I gave this a three instead of a two.
Gasping for air
This was a good fast read,it kept me interested and happy that the character Lillian was brave to leave an abusive relationship to find anew life at the last chance motel.
Good one.
Not classical - but good read for an afternoon. I thought it was a little short. I do like the fact that the writer's characters are not age 25 and models. I am an older reader so I enjoy and identify with older women who lived through real-life experiences and are still t able to experience overcome adversity and find love again. The heroine in this book is like many women I have known - stay with the husband because of the kids. Too many settle into that type of life instead of having the courage to get out of a bad situation and start over. I enjoyed it, and the one before - Last Chance Motel for the same reasons.
Five Stars
Very nice storyline. But, I like this author's style on all of her books.
Five Stars
