Have you ever felt like you’re drifting—uncertain of where you’re going or who you’re becoming? In this second episode of Gay in Rural France, I open up about what it means to feel lost… again and again. From my divorce to starting over in a foreign country, from juggling too many projects to constantly questioning my path—this is a deeply personal reflection on how being lost might actually be a good thing.
Living in the French countryside, trying to make a life out of art, renovation, and self-expression—it’s beautiful, but it’s also messy. Maybe you’re in that space too. If so, you’re not alone.
💬 I’d love to hear from you: Do you ever feel this way? Let me know in the comments or message me directly. Let’s make this a space where we can be real.

It's been quite the ride this year and starting my podcast has been on my wishlist for a real long time. This week, in this seasons final episode, we talk about all the things that happened this year and what podcasting did with me.
We talk about future plans, where the podcast is going and when it's back for Season 2 and how to overcome imposter syndrome. I do feel like I have it right now, embarking on my full time creator journey.
Tune in, follow and give some love and I shall talk to you very soon again!
Much love,
Amadeus

This week is all about bureaucracy. The most dreaded word when it comes to opening up a business or dealing with anything that is admin related. I'm talking about my experiences here in France and how it's been for me and giving some tips on where to find information when you're either living in France or planning to move to France.

This week I want to talk about how it is to open up a B&B and how this all can feel very overwhelming. Especially when you're on your own.
But don't despair, I have a few tips and insights and maybe some useful ones on how to deal with anxieties and how to also know what feels good and not.
This year has been an absolute crazy ride and with 2 episodes remaining in this season I hope that you can enjoy this very personal episode this week.

This week I want to talk about the consumption of alcohol in rural areas, not only rural France is affected by this. But let's talk about the effects, the social importance and how to maybe overcome the whole thing.
Let's also link drinking to not feeling well and how it affects queer people because they withdraw from society.

In this episode I'm taking you on another walk through Charente here in France and I talk more about my adventures renovating half a castle here. It's been quite the ride and I've had to deal with lots of frustration and it's not always easy to overcome it but I have found a way that works. So listen till the end to hear how I deal with stressful situations.

This episode I want to talk about being openly queer in a very rural area of France. I talk about my experiences that I made so far and try to give you a feel for the overall situation in comparison to living in a big European city, where I lived before.

... while renovating a house and moving to a foreign country.
This episode is all about tips and tricks and maybe just some new ideas on how to maintain your mental health while renovating and moving and probably also very generally in life.
I have experienced burn out and I do feel like I'm at the edge of it again but there are some ways to work through this. Although you might consider seeing a doctor in case you feel too drained and/or depressed. I am not a trained expert so this is just purely my knowledge from life experience.

Gay in Rural France is a queer countryside podcast about living, creating, and surviving far away from the city.
Set in the Charente Limousine, one of the most rural regions…
Some episodes focus on queerness, the body, visibility, and mental health. Others are quieter reflections on daily life, relationships, renovation fatigue, artistic work, and what it means to build a life outside dominant urban narratives.
This is a personal journal as much as it is a social reflection — slow, honest, and grounded in place.
New episodes are released monthly.
