Grace is God’s kindness and undeserved favor, so grace in and of itself is not dangerous. However, God’s offer of grace is not limitless. It is dangerous to scorn God’s grace.

Grace despised brings judgment deserved.

Psalm 62 was written by King David. It is not clear what the circumstances were in David’s life when he penned this Psalm. It is possible it was during his son Absalom’s rebellion. Verses 3 & 4 indicate that David was under some type of personal attack.

The Lord is capable of handling my situation I am not.

In order to be reminded of the importance of discipleship we are going to look at the Discipleship Directive given by Jesus to His eleven disciples.

We will be focused upon three words.

Invitation—Initiation—Obligation.

The word “disciple” means a learner or a follower. The word “disciple” and the word “Christian” are synonymous. The goal of discipleship is to follow Jesus in all of life and to lead others to do the same.
