Prayer is a standard part of religious activity. From a Christian perspective, it is about a relationship and communication with God. Some prayers are as simple as "Save me," and others become practiced and repeated as a congregation in worship services. Private prayers become more personal and a usual aspect of a person's devotional life. But there is the prayer that alters the world we live in, shakes the unseen realm, and invites the power of heaven to invade Earth. That is Preeminent Prayer. Jesus's followers are unique; they are humans with a divine alteration and new creations in Christ. As such, they are to be experiencing and exhibiting the Kingdom of God on earth. The Lord's Prayer emphasizes that God's Kingdom comes, and his will be done on earth as in heaven. That is important. But there is more happening in the heavens that influence things on earth, and Christians must know what is going on and how to live so that God's will is done on earth as it is in heaven. God is extraterrestrial, not of earth; he is on his throne in heaven. However, God is intimately involved in the things of earth with individuals, nations, and the flow of history. It is magnificent in the order of things. He does that from heaven and through the heavens and earth. Discerning the heavens can help us see God and his glory. We will look at those things on Sunday in a sermon called Heaven and Earth.
